National Park Service, Education Intern

Work with the National Parks! The Olmsted Center for Landscape Preservation is hiring a full-time, 7.5 month intern/associate in our Education Department. The intern will work with Olmsted Center staff to develop both distance learning and field based, hands-on, educational programs in cultural landscape preservation skills for National Park Service employees. Duties will include development of class curriculum, delivery, and evaluation methodology; and support in planning and coordinating skills training classes and other Olmsted Center educational initiatives.

Experience and training in one or more of the following required: education curriculum development, historic preservation, public horticulture, public lands management, and/or environmental education. Excellent communication skills and the ability to utilize technology to design successful distance learning experiences through webinars and other technology is highly desirable. This is a great opportunity to further build teaching and curriculum development credentials.

The National Park Service Olmsted Center for Landscape Preservation works with national parks to manage cultural landscapes that reflect our national heritage. The Center provides research, planning, stewardship and education services to parks in the Northeast Region, from Maine to Virginia.  Internship located in Philadelphia or Boston, travel (fully sponsored) is required. Housing not provided. Must be US Citizen. The internship is supported through a partnership with the National Council for Preservation Education.
