  • This position is located in the Public Affairs Office in the St. Paul District of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. The Public Affairs Specialist will implement the District-wide public information program, plan and develop information materials, and produce and disseminate news releases, feature articles and visuals describing agency programs.

Responsibilities

  • Preparing strategic communication plans and presentations.
  • Developing, implementing, and reviewing public affairs policies, guidance, and procedures.
  • Planning, editing, and coordinating internal and external communication products including press releases and media advisories.
  • Drafting factsheets, brochures, and biographies.
  • Preparing and giving speeches, briefings, and presentations.
  • Creating communications using graphic design, editing, and photo editing software.
  • Preparing and managing multimedia products for social media and web.
  • Responding to public and media queries.
  • Organizing participation in communication relation events, open house type events, and public meetings.
  • Planning and executing media site visits.
