P1900202 - Director of Facilities and Space Planning - College of Arts and Sciences

Posting Number: P1900202

Position Summary:
The College of Arts and Sciences announces an exciting opportunity. As the Director of Facilities and Space Planning, you will have responsibility for space- and facilities-related functions across the College. The College has an overall space assignment of approximately one million gross square feet across 26 buildings on both the North and South campuses. Space types include but are not limited to office, classroom, dry and wet labs for both teaching and research, specialty libraries, and a host of public performance and exhibition spaces. The College is in the process of completing a master plan and preparing to leverage projected enrollment growth. This position requires advanced knowledge within the areas of architecture, space planning, engineering systems and general safety guidelines within a research facility. The Director of Facilities and Space Planning will play an integral role in the master plan implementation process; create and implement a process to inventory, document and increase departmental classroom utilization; and coordinate a wide range of space planning, renovation and other facilities issues including serving as lead staff member responsible for safety and emergency management.

With 28 departments, 15 academic programs, and 23 centers and institutes, the College of Arts and Sciences offers more academic options than any other unit on campus. Students have the resources of a major research institution — such as cutting-edge facilities and faculty at the forefront of their fields — combined with the support of a small university setting where individual student needs are recognized and respected.
