Production Assistant Part-Time

Primary Purpose

  •  Production Assistant will be responsible for assisting the team with daily studio and field production.

Key Activities

  • Assist in gathering, writing and editing content for multiple platforms.
  • Assist with technical operations in the studio including operating teleprompter.
  • Update music cue sheets monthly
  • Work with associate producer to secure props for segments online or at brick and mortar
  • Update PTO in team conference room based on A, B, C, D weeks
  • Print daily rundowns for executive producer
  • Work with entertainment line producer to maintain a clean and positive work environment. This includes managing weekly talent wardroom including dry cleaning, cleaning and organizing conference room daily, assisting with staff lunches and special events, including set up and clean up and assisting in managing and maintaining company car fleet as well as shopping weekly for staff craft services and maintaining craft services table.
  • Execute daily run requests
  • Check mailroom for packages and deliveries
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Skills

Education & Experience/Certifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.  College degree preferred
  • 1 year experience
Skills & Abilities
  • Previous Newsroom experience preferred.
  • Strong Verbal and written communication skills, including grammar, storytelling abilities and news judgment.
  • Proficiency in Mac and PC, Final Cut Pro and I-News.
  • Knowledge and demonstration of creativity, editorial judgment, journalistic ethics and libel laws.
  • Ability to execute time sensitive decisions

Work Environment

  • Valid driver's license, good driving record and provide certificate of insurance with company required insurance limits.
