The Academic Affairs Associate provides administrative and project support to the Assistant to the Senior Vice Chancellor for Faculty Human Resources (HR) and the Office of Academic Affairs (OAA). Primary duties include, but are not limited, to serving as the PeopleAdmin expert/resource for internal and external users; assisting with the Office of Academic Affairs background check process; managing the collection, documentation, and filing of faculty credentials per Higher Learning Commission guidelines; providing administrative support for faculty recruitment and hiring processes; and assisting with reports, correspondence, programs, and projects that support the faculty HR enterprise. This support position communicates regularly with UNO faculty and staff on behalf of the Academic/Faculty Human Resources Office and is integral to its productivity, effectiveness, and timeliness of services. Working both independently and with numerous colleagues across campus, the Academic Affairs Associate is highly professional, effective, motivated, collaborative, discrete, organized, and accurate. The work completed by this professional relates directly to university compliance with various sets of regulations and standards (HLC, AAUP, NU); employment law; and the integrity of the Office of Academic Affairs.

Required Qualifications:
·        Associate’s Degree
·        Experience with project management, office administration, and the following software: Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
·        Also required is discretion, accuracy, attention to detail, professionalism, a positive and pleasant demeanor, effective communication skills (both written and verbal), initiative, ability to prioritize, ability to manage multiple demands while meeting short and long-term deadlines, excellent organizational skills, and a high comfort level with learning and using technology.
·        Ability and willingness to reflect, plan, and change within the position’s scope of duties to improve processes, capacity, and effectiveness; competence, confidence, and diplomacy to provide administrative guidance and direction to campus units; commitment to quality and accuracy; critical thinking; problem-solving.
