Intern, Marketing – Summer 2020

Location:  Kohler, Wisconsin

Come make your mark with the Kohler Kitchen & Bath Americas and/or Global Faucets marketing teams! If you have a creative mind, enjoy data analysis, collaborating with a team and seek challenging work, we have a 3-month, hands-on summer internship opportunity for you. 

Partnering with a product, channel or digital marketing team, the Marketing Intern is responsible for conducting, summarizing and presenting marketing analysis. This would involve researching and developing industry information, maintaining on-going data necessary for our teams to develop marketing strategies, forecasts, recommendations on pricing, new products, and strategic plans, and assist with other special projects for an existing product line, channel or digital platform.          

Other day-to-day responsibilities include:
  • Compile information and analysis on various subjects and prepare summaries of relevant data for distribution to appropriate managers.
  • Develop, analyze, and maintain data obtained from trade publications, government reports, competitive price sheets, visits to distributors and trade shows, etc. showing trends and conditions based on sales. 
  • Obtain and maintain competitive product, channel and price information.
  • Participate and assist marketing teams in planning, developing, and implementing trade shows, conventions, and meetings.
  • Conduct margin and financial analysis as needed.
  • Assist in preparing and coordinating special promotional programs including content to be used in literature and related materials to introduce new products and channel programs to sales and customers on a timely basis prior to their  introduction.
  • Maintain awareness of legislation, trade group agreements, federal, state and local codes, etc. that may affect marketing of products and programs.
  • Works with accounting and other support areas to obtain information.
  • Occasionally serves as marketing representative on cross-functional
  • teams.
  • Provides functional support to customer service and sales personnel. 
  • Provides timely product and marketing support to external customers.
  • Visits retail and wholesale customer locations to understand customer needs and build relationships

Education and Experience Requirements
Candidates must be actively in pursuit of their Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Marketing, Finance or a related subject.

Must possess a keen analytical mind, be strong on planning, detail, and accuracy, and be a demonstrably creative thinker. 

Must possess substantial skills in written and oral communication with all levels of management and with outside contacts.

Depending on department/marketing team, there is the potential to travel to trade shows, manufacturing plants, and customer visits as needed.
