Staff Full Stack Developer
Applied Research Associates, Inc. (ARA), Southeast Division (SED) in Raleigh, NC is seeking a Staff Cloud Developer for a position defining and developing a cloud-based architecture for an advanced physics-based computational system. This system will be deployed for use in the Department of Defense. Candidate will have a strong passion and background in full-stack, cloud-based software environment development and making quality production software at all stages of the software lifecycle.
What you’ll do as a Staff Full Stack Developer:
- Help define our cloud-enabled web applications
- Help plan and execute the development of our system, including:
- Exposing physics-based computations as web-services
- Using cloud-enabling tools, such as containers, to deploy our system
- Work with and guide an Agile team
- Deploy a major cloud application
- Participate in full stack development of those applications
- Work directly with our customers, other contractors, and other ARA teams to cross-integrate capabilities
Staff Full Stack Developer Requirements:
- Experience in full-stack web application development
- Familiarity with Java
- Demonstrated experience in working on an Agile team
- Familiarity with containerization and infrastructure as code technologies like Docker
- BS in Computer Science or similar with a minimum of 2-4 years work experience, or MS with 0-2 years’ experience
- US citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance
Staff Full Stack Developer Preferences:
- Experience working in Continuous Integration / Continuous Development efforts
- Experience in deploying and integrating Commercial Off the Shelf (COTS) software into a cloud environment
- Demonstrated experience deploying a major cloud application
- Working familiarity with FORTRAN and C++
