Technical Communications Internship Summer 2020

Overview

Leepfrog Technologies, Inc. provides its CourseLeaf software to more than 330 of the nation’s most academically complex colleges and universities to manage their academic catalogs, curriculum, section scheduling, registration, and syllabi management.

The Implementation Team partners with clients to implement their software. These implementations require a number of processes to execute effectively. The Implementation Team is instrumental in the gathering, development, and execution of both internal and external processes. These processes are maintained and refined through relationship building, understanding each department’s needs and working with others to formulate a strategy for change and communication of said changes.

The Technical Communications Intern supports the Implementation Team with their day-to-day activities and designated project(s). This internship will give the intern valuable, real-world experience, as well as provide value to Leepfrog. The intern will gain exposure to various Implementation functions during their 10-12 week internship. 

Please Note
  • This internship requires that you work in our office, which is located in Coralville, Iowa. Leepfrog does not pay for moving expenses or housing for internships.
  • This internship requires that you work a minimum of 30 hours per week.
  • This internship is only offered during the summer of 2020. Exact dates TBD.



Duties

  • Research internal resources and communicate with team members of all departments to formulate documentation for internal and external use.
  • Build guidelines and templates, and prepare drafts and final editions of documents.
  • Evaluate processes and make recommendations. Amend and revise processes in order to adapt to changes that occur.
  • Track projects by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data.
  • Prepare agendas, reports, presentations, proposals, correspondence, and meeting notes as requested.
  • Edit and proofread content for clarity.
  • Develop knowledge of CourseLeaf software to assist in the development of documentation.
  • Use discretion to affect timely solution of problems in order to ensure client and internal staff satisfaction.
  • Adhere to prescribed deadlines.
  • Maintain outstanding professionalism.
  • Organize and participate in internal meetings.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Identify, recommend, and develop strategies for improved implementation of CourseLeaf products.

Qualifications

Must be pursuing or just completed a 4 year degree program and have a basic understanding of professional communication and documentation. Must be able to respectfully handle highly confidential information. Possess expertise with Windows OS, Microsoft Word & Excel, Firefox, and other computer applications. Customer service skills are required. The ideal candidate must be able to operate in an entrepreneurial, small company environment with the ability to adjust as needed. The ideal candidate will be encouraged to express ideas and suggestions as part of the team.




Physical Requirements

The Technical Communications Intern will spend long hours sitting and using office equipment and computers. The Implementation Intern may be located in a busy, open area office, and will be faced with regular interruptions.
