Software Support Internship Summer 2020

Overview

Leepfrog Technologies, Inc. provides its CourseLeaf software to more than 330 of the nation’s most academically complex colleges and universities to manage their academic catalogs, curriculum, section scheduling, registration, and syllabi management.

The Software Support Intern supports the Support, Training, and QA Team with their day-to-day activities and special project(s). This internship will give the intern valuable, real-world experience, as well as providing assistance to the Support Team. The intern will gain exposure to various technical support functions during their 10-12 week internship. The ideal candidate is a combination of overall technologist, a passion for problem-solving, and interpersonal skills is desired and will frequently garner the greatest rewards. 

Please Note
  • This internship requires that you work in our office, which is located in Coralville, Iowa. Leepfrog does not pay for moving expenses or housing for internships.
  • This internship requires that you work a minimum of 30 hours per week.
  • This internship is only offered during the summer of 2020. Exact dates TBD.





Duties

  • Maintain outstanding customer service.
  • Build guidelines and templates, and prepares drafts and final editions of documents.
  • Track projects by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data.
  • Act as a liaison between internal staff and the Support Team by appropriately directing questions. Ensure follow-up after answers have been determined.
  • Use discretion to affect timely solution of problems in order to ensure client and internal staff satisfaction.
  • Evaluate processes and make recommendations. Amend and revise processes in order to adapt changes that occur.
  • Prepare agendas, reports, presentations, proposals, correspondence, and meeting notes as requested.
  • Adhere to prescribed deadlines.
  • Other duties as assigned.





Skills Required

Technical (not required, but a plus):
  • Knowledge of Adobe Acrobat Pro, command line, navigating a server/database, and how a website is architected (file structure, JavaScript functions, etc.).
Communication:
  • Successful candidates will possess outstanding customer relationship skills with the ability to build relationships.
  • Effortless collaboration, with an ability to communicate across disciplines and pull inspiration and solutions from all departments within the organization.
  • Able to clearly convey ideas effectively and efficiently across a wide range of internal and external audiences.
Business Analysis & Project Management:
  • Identify, recommend, and develop strategies for successful support of CourseLeaf products.
  • Ability to adapt and work efficiently in a rapidly changing dynamic environment, with the ability to manage multiple projects. Have an ability to think ahead, prioritize, and plan.
  • Candidates are encouraged to think outside of the box to create an effective and pleasant implementation experience for each unique client.
  • The adoption of a “there are no bad ideas” mentality is essential for client and company success. Analyze situations quickly and react appropriately.

Qualifications

Must be pursuing or just completed a 4 year degree program and have a basic understanding of professional communication and documentation. Must be able to respectfully handle highly confidential information. Possess expertise with Windows OS, Microsoft Word & Excel, Firefox, and other computer applications. Customer service skills are required. The ideal candidate must be able to operate in an entrepreneurial, small company environment with the ability to adjust as needed. 





Physical Requirements

The Software Support Intern will spend long hours sitting and using office equipment and computers. The Software Support Intern may be located in a busy, open area office, and will be faced with regular interruptions.
