POSITION SUMMARY: The Bank Controller position is responsible for the accounting and operations of the Bank. This includes the production of periodic financial reports, maintaining an adequate system of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the Bank’s reported financial results, and ensure the reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Responsible for managing the Accounting function:
·        Wire Transfers
·        Preparation of the monthly Director’s Report
·        Preparation of required quarterly regulatory reports
·        Preparation of worksheets to support the annual audit of financial statements
·        Preparation of customized reports from iVue (Core Processor Database) i.e. Asset/Liability Monthly Management Reports.
·        Oversees the fixed assets and depreciation schedules.
·        Oversees servicing of secondary market and purchase loans.
  1. Primary liaison with Fiserv. Works with department leaders to direct processing activities of all applications with outsourced provider (Fiserv). Ensuring systems are set to best support FVSBank’s operations. Influences product choices and support implementation of new or upgraded products. Ensures annual Fiserv product reviews are scheduled and completed. Initiates contact between the Bank and core processing vendor regarding enhancements, fixes, software, maintenance and billing.
  2. Liaison with Financial Auditors, internal auditors, and regulators. 
  3. Ensures internal controls are in place and functioning such as accounts payables, employee accounts, account reconciliations, financial statements, teller balancing, and wire transfer.
  4. Provides back up support to information technology.
  5. Supports CFO in review and development of financial policies.
  6. Coaches and develops employees, including career development plans. Sets goals and evaluates individual performance of direct reports. Works with direct reports to build culture characterized by teamwork and high morale. Assures effective communication within the department. Regularly communicates goals and results.
  7. Participates on Committee/Team assignments.
