2019-2020 HR Intern

FUNCTIONAL OVERVIEW
HUMAN RESOURCES:
Interns will work on projects individually and/or cross-functionally in areas of HR such as employee relations, training & development, recruiting, benefits, workforce planning, and employment law. Interns will need to able to demonstrate the following skills to be successful in the HR function.
• Must have computer and software knowledge – Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Microsoft Office
• Ability to research and identify solution and best practices for the HR function
• Ability to determine department needs based on collected data.
• Communication— verbal and written
• Listens effectively, transmitting information accurately and understandably, and actively seeking feedback non-defensively
• Interpersonal and team skills
• Must have excellent attendance and have the ability to find solutions independently
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Dependability/Reliability – Following through on commitments, producing timely work to required -- or higher -- standards, pitching in to get the job done
• A strong work ethic, results orientation, enthusiasm, flexibility, motivation and empowerment skills
EDUCATION:
• Bachelors in:
o Human Resources, Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Business, or related field
QUALIFICATIONS: • Must be currently enrolled, pursuing a Bachelor's/Master's degree at an accredited four year university • Ability to complete a 10-12 week assignment, preferred *exceptions athletics, military, etc. • Will work a 40 hour work week for the duration of the internship • 3.0 Min GPA preferred
