FUNCTIONAL OVERVIEW
Position Description:
The summer internship position supports and leads special projects and presents conclusions and recommendations to management. Projects are focused on improving finance planning and analysis that supports sales and operations within strategic business units. Primary focus areas are, but not limited to: improved financial reporting tools, manufacturing cost analysis (part routings and cost models), forecasting and budget analysis tools.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Streamline and improve forecast processes through the use of predictive analytics.
• Support conversion of financial reporting to new ERP systems with goals to standardize processes and work procedures across sites and develop tools for analyses of actual vs. quoted production costs.
• Support creation of robust daily reporting tools to monitor order intake and backlog profitability. This project may require collaboration and coordination with IT to automate process.
• Improve sales forecasting process and integration with Sales & Operations Planning. This project will require collaboration with Scheduling and Product Costing.
• Improve and support automation of weekly KPI metrics reporting process. This project will require interaction across Operations, and collaboration with IT.
• Support and improve process for maintaining costing models to provide detailed product profitability analyses. This project will require collaboration with the Product Costing and Special Quoting teams.
• Support and improve monthly close processes and reporting.
• Develop FP&A ad-hoc analysis tools and models.
Education Requirements:
College Degree Major Desired: Bachelor’s in Finance, Accounting or related field.
Knowledge, Training, Skills and/or Experience:
• Exceptional work ethic – must be a self-starter and willing to do what it takes to complete the task
• Excellent communication skills – Ability to interact with various departments and locations
• Ability to work cooperatively with others
• Ability to coordinate several tasks concurrently, multitasking and prioritizing
• Proficient computer skills with Microsoft Office experience in Excel, Word, Outlook, Sharepoint QUALIFICATIONS: • Must be currently enrolled, pursuing a Bachelor's/Master's degree at an accredited four year university • Ability to complete a 10-12 week assignment, preferred *exceptions athletics, military, etc. • Will work a 40 hour work week for the duration of the internship • 3.0 Min GPA preferred
