Assistant Professor, Applied Health

The Assistant Professor will teach and mentor undergraduate and graduate students in the School of Education, Health and Human Behavior, Department of Applied Health. The selected candidate will network with community agencies and organizations; participate in departmental, school, and university service; promote the program within the region, nationally and internationally; and develop and maintain an active research agenda. Duties may also include coordinating and supervising internships and service learning. Quality performance will be expected in teaching.

Minimum Qualifications
A doctorate in Public Health or an MPH with a doctorate in a closely related field. Candidates should be able to demonstrate the ability or potential to secure internal and external funding and publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals. The department is seeking a candidate with strong interpersonal skills who can communicate effectively with diverse students, colleagues, and local public and private agencies and organizations. ABD candidates are encouraged to apply but must have completed a doctoral degree by the date of appointment.

Preferred Qualifications
Preference will be given to those who have a CHES/MCHES or CPH; at least one semester of teaching experience at the university level and/or interests in biostatistics and/or research methods; and scholarship in areas of Public Health not already addressed by current faculty. Terms of Appointment
Continuing tenure-track position for nine months beginning August 2020, with opportunity for summer employment based on availability of funds and course enrollment.
