Internal Audit Intern

Are you a Junior or Senior looking for a school year internship in Internal Audit? As an Internal Audit Intern you will spend time working with our Corporate Internal Audit team, allowing hands on experience and exposure to manufacturing accounting and internal audit at a large global publicly traded company. You will assist our J-SOX internal audit testing by helping perform controls testing specific to Komatsu’s J-SOX control framework, as well as other internal audit related projects. This role will collaborate with other cross-functional teams and management throughout the organization

Responsibilities:
  • Learn how an internal audit team functions at a publicly traded company.
  • Receive hands-on education in sessions conducted by the VP, General Auditor, and Senior Manager of Internal Audit.
  • Participate in the J-SOX and risk-based audit testing at our Milwaukee locations, helping to review systems, processes, practices and controls throughout Komatsu in line with the company’s audit procedures and principles of internal auditing.
  • Perform administrative tasks including: managing electronic files, organizing meetings, taking notes, helping to being a confident organizer and communicator.
  • Assist in researching GAAP/IFRS/J-SOX regarding appropriate financial reporting and governance application.
  • Apply observation, critical thought, audit best practices, data analytics and audit software such as ACL or Microsoft Excel to analyze and evaluate information and draw conclusions.

Qualifications:
  • Junior or Senior status pursuing an undergraduate degree in Accounting
  • Knowledge of basic accounting principals and controls framework
  • Motivated and a self-starter
  • Be able to juggle multiple tasks in a corporate environment
  • Demonstrate an eye for detail
  • Be a strong team player, comfortable working collaboratively and independently
  • Be flexible and able to deal with rapidly changing situations
  • Be comfortable working to deadlines
  • Ambitious to learn on the job
  • Proactive
  • Computer skills in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word and email
  • Ability to interact well with a variety of internal and external business partners at various levels within the organization
