Service Area Director – Community Chemical and Mental Health
POSITION SUMMARY
We are looking for an innovative and professional, experienced senior-level leader who is a passionate advocate for access to holistic community care for all, and reducing disparities. As Service Area Director of Community Chemical and Mental Health, you will lead and mentor the interdisciplinary team in our Community Support Program, Adult Mental Health Targeted Case Management, Care Coordination and Mental Health Clinic. You will develop strong partnerships with funders, program partners, and other key stakeholders; ensure the service area’s financial sustainability; and oversee the quality management system. The Director propels new, innovative service opportunities and ensures the delivery of culturally-responsive services for individuals and families.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Directly supervise program directors, and oversee the recruitment, development, retention, and performance evaluations of a diverse team of professional, paraprofessional and support staff.
- Maintain financial sustainability of service area through strategic and annual planning, budgeting, cash flow forecasting and regular monitoring; ensure accurate reporting; and uncover new funding or income-generating opportunities.
- Implement and sustain service delivery grounded in culturally-response, person-centered, and evidence-based practices; employ holistic approach and bolster Avivo Wellness Initiative throughout service area programs.
- Ensure compliance with service area contracts and grant agreements; maintain outcome-based statistics and licensing and certification requirements; and utilize Procentive to monitor program outcomes.
- Promote effective quality management of service area including, clinical supervision, file auditing, staff training and performance, policies & procedures, outcome development & measurement, and quality improvement.
- Actively contribute to organizational and divisional planning process; ensure intra-divisional and organization-wide collaboration to maximize participants’ success; represent organization’s overall continuum of services and unique approach to stakeholders.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Masters Degree in a Mental Health field with current licensure in good standing through a MN State Licensing Board.
- Dually-licensed professional (mental health and chemical health) desired.
- A minimum of 10 years experience with community-based programs. Experience with programs serving individuals with dual diagnoses helpful.
- Minimum 5 years of management experience in mental health and chemical health clinical services.
- Understanding of Community Behavioral Health programming, service needs and challenges.
- Knowledge of Medicaid billable services (preferred).
- Understanding of recovery philosophy and recovery-oriented behavioral health services.
- Demonstrated success in developing internal and external partnerships to meet complex needs of individuals with significant barriers.
- Experience with working with diverse, underserved populations and delivering culturally-responsive services.
- Demonstrated competence using Procentive electronic health record is preferred.
