Quality Engineer

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  1. Meet with customer to develop and finalize agreements related to the following: (40% of time)
  2. Create internal operation standards related to product quality and testing. (30% of time)
  3. Create Product Launch documents (P-FMEA, control plan, flow charts). (30% of time)
  4. Detailed Responsibilities:

The QE will review LSI quote and customer contract for unresolved or unaddressed issues and will create a standards sheet with applied limits and boundaries.
The QE will review all packaging and material methods for accuracy and compliance to the customer requirements, set up subcontractor requirements in vantage/E9, review all work instructions for accuracy and completeness, and review all print tolerances in order to determine the appropriate processes and manufacturing methods.
The QE will have the ability to place a project on hold if customer agreements on all technical aspects of project are not agreed to and approved.
The QE will and fully understand all customer standards as well as industry standards and properly apply to projects.
The QE will review all drawings for GD&T dimensioning and match the appropriate LSI processes to meet all drawing requirements.         

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum: Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or related area. 

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum: 5-10 years experience in engineering quality field

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
  1. Knowledge quality discipline and principles
  2. Knowledge and experience in Process Engineering
  3. Manufacturing process improvement experience
  4. Interpersonal skills to interact with all levels of management, staff and customers.
  5. Proficient in word processing, spreadsheet, database and presentation software skills.
  6. Work well with teams yet maintains internal drive to complete tasks independently
  7. Uses sound and accurate judgment.
  8. Thrives in culture of change excited by new challenges.
  9. Ability to work with high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  10. Ability to maintain confidentiality.
