Intern - Research & Development and Training

The R&D Intern will ideally be in the position from the Fall of 2019 with the potential to continue through the school year until the student graduates in May of 2020 or 2021.
Throughout the school year, this position is part time 15-20 hours per week based on class schedule and our company’s business hours, which are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. During the summer and breaks, the position is 40 hours per week.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Updating forms and rules in the proper databases.
  • Formatting forms and rules documents.
  • Assist with Association administrative duties which can include member verification, scheduling renewal review meetings, and mailing contractual materials.
  • Update new system documentation.
  • Updating the Reference manuals for our various product lines.
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external customers
  • Support the Training department on an as needed basis
  • Participate in ad hoc projects as needed.


QUALIFICATIONS:

 ESSENTIAL:
  • Currently enrolled in a 2 or 4-year degree program.
  • Detail oriented and organized.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • The ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
  • Initiative to frequently take on new challenges
PREFERRED:
  • Knowledge of, or interest in, the insurance industry or pursuing a business degree.
  • Proficient at MS Office 2010 Products (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Access and/or programming experience is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Superior grammar and creative writing skills
  • Excellent organization, prioritization, and time-management skills.
