Marketing Intern

Summary

Responsible for supporting the Marketing Department at Fox World Travel for all business units providing a blend of administrative coordination with general exposure to a variety of marketing related topics such as web, social media, advertising/promotion, special events, content creation and curation, public relations, budget and finance, marketing collateral and special projects.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time.
  • Support the marketing department administratively to assist in accurate, efficient service to our customers as well as to maintain the processes and tasks of the department as a whole. This could include but is not limited to running and interpreting reports, tracking, routine tasks and administrative projects.
  • Provide preparation support for special events, tradeshows, and presentations to include various tasks as assigned such as assembling materials pre-event and assist with re-inventorying materials post-event.
  • Assist with ordering of marketing collateral, organizational brand, and identity items.
  • Assist with media buying and tracking, including updating advertising budget tracking and reports, back-up, invoicing and budget reconciliation.
  • Participate in the creation of engaging content across multiple channels including print, digital and social media.
  • Support marketing projects as assigned, working amongst team to execute new projects and update materials (digital and print) as needed.
  • Maintain a favorable and collaborative working relationship with team members in all departments to foster an environment of trust and mutual respect.
  • Enhance the organization’s reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
  • Update knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks.
  • Drive standards and best practices whenever possible and effectively foster a culture of engagement.
  • Recommend new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of operations and services performed.
  • Other duties, projects and alternate assignments as determined by business need.

Knowledge, Skills and/or Abilities
  • Working toward a post-secondary degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism or a related field
  • At least 1-2 years of work experience
  • Technical fluency with Microsoft Office required
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • High attention to details balanced with a fast-paced work ethic.
  • Experience with various digital arts software programs which could include but is not limited to Adobe Creative Suite: Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, and Acrobat helpful
  • Knowledge of and interest in marketing communications and related areas
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively

The incumbent will occasionally be required to lift up to 25 pounds.
