Denver's Sexual Assault Prevention Center: Hiring Entry-level Outreach Staff

The Blue Bench is the only comprehensive sexual assault prevention and care center serving the Denver-Metro area. With the support of our community, The Blue Bench continues to offer a 24/7 crisis hotline, inclusive counseling services to all survivors and their families, and prevention work in local schools.

Our outreach in the Denver area educates and involves community members every day to put an end to sexual assault and connect survivors with support. By keeping our conversations survivor focused we will change the conversation around sexual violence and work to make the violence a thing of the past.
We are currently looking for dependable, motivated individuals to be part of our grassroots campaigns. Good communication are a must. You must also possess a genuine interest in social justice issues.

We are the only organization of our kind with year-round grassroots organizing department.
 
This position is perfect for students, with opportunities for long-term growth. We emphasize career development for staff and provide opportunities for management training, travel, and participation in national conferences.

Responsibilities include:
·        We do door-to-door community outreach and education
·        Connect survivors and their families with our hotline and counselling information
·        Engage community support through volunteer recruitment and fundraising

The hours for the work are from 2 PM to 10:30 PM, Monday through Friday, or at least 3 days a week between Monday and Friday. We are hiring for positions starting immediately or after graduation in May.

Qualifications: Applicants must be available to work in Denver-Metro or have specific moving plans
  • Must have strong communication and motivational skills
  • Willingness to engage with the public about sexual assault prevention
  • Candidates must be able to work within and lead a team.
  • Experience handling many responsibilities preferred
  • Applicants with previous grassroots leadership experience will be considered for fast tracked training and development
Compensation
  • Full Time- $450/week + performance bonuses
  • Part Time- $270/week + performance bonuses
