Position Summary:
Student Engagement at the University at Buffalo provides UB students with intentional programming and support related to leadership, engagement, activities and development (LEAD). As one of five Assistant Directors within Student Engagement, this position is responsible for the support and oversight of programming initiatives designed for the seven student governments as well as for 250+ recognized student organizations. In addition, this Assistant Director position also provides general support for the other functional areas of Student Engagement including leadership and outdoor education, community & civic engagement, Fraternity & Sorority Life, student mentorship initiatives and large-scale pride & tradition programming.
1. You will serve as a liaison between the university and the seven student governments, providing information, support and assistance when necessary – including the coordination of activity fee referendums, elections, reviewing internal and external audit reports as well as student government policies and procedures. 
2. You will support the Campus Designee for mandatory student activity fee related matters and support/assist with processes in regards to fiscal process under the Board of Trustees guidelines.
3. You will assist in the planning and implementation of large-scale pride and tradition programming initiatives such as Welcome Weekend, Family Weekend, Senior Celebration and Oozefest Mud Volleyball Tournament
4. You will contribute positively to the overall success of Student Engagement programming initiatives by supporting the other functional areas of Student Engagement
5. You will build and maintain positive relationships with campus and community stakeholders

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree is required. Two (2) years of experience working in higher education, student leadership development, experiential learning or student activities is required. Knowledge of student development, ability to work with diverse populations, strong communication skills, and a demonstrated ability to multi-task are required.

Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s Degree in in student affairs, higher education, counseling, leadership development, or a related discipline is desirable. Strong presentation and communications skills, demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a face-paced, team setting and a proven commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment for a large, diverse student body is preferred. Experience working with student governance/student organizations.
