Financial Aid Counselor
As a member of the Student Financial Services team at Beloit College, the Financial Aid Office plays a key role in the recruitment and retention of students. The Financial Aid Office is responsible for evaluating the aid eligibility of applicants and enrolled students as well as counseling prospective and current students and parents on their financial aid eligibility and financing their Beloit College education. Additionally, the Financial Aid Office is responsible for and manages the disbursing of institutional, state and federal funds in accordance with well-established and regulated policies. It also acts as a critical partner with other offices on campus around the stewardship of institutional resources, compliance with federal and state financial requirements and reporting to internal and external parties.
Duties and Responsibilities
Counsels students/parents regarding financial aid awards and financing.
Reviews documentation submitted by students and parents for completeness and accuracy.
Performs verification review and associated procedures according to Department of Education guidelines and regulations.
 
Credentials and Experience
Bachelor's degree is required.
Two years of experience in student financial aid at a post-secondary institution
Experience with planning, organizing and prioritizing multiple tasks and projects simultaneously with frequent interruptions is required.
Proficiency using software applications including Microsoft Office software as well as the ability to learn other software relevant to duties (e.g., PowerFAIDS and Jenzabar EX) is required.
