ORGANIZATION SUMMARY:
 
Plymouth Christian Youth Center (PCYC) is a nonprofit 501(c) (3) community-based organization with a 63-year history of providing services to youth, families and individuals on a non-sectarian basis. PCYC’s mission is to enrich the skills, prospects and spirit of North Minneapolis youth and adults, in partnership with families and communities. This mission is carried out through an array of award-winning programs, including PYC Arts and Tech High School, Out-of-School Time programs, and the Capri Theater. POSITION SUMMARY:
 
This position will work with referring agencies and community professionals to provide collaborative services for incoming students and families through the school intake process; monitor and track student attendance and follow Hennepin County’s truancy procedures; and maintain accurate student records and documentation. The office manager will work in a fast-paced, highly detailed school office environment to meet the needs of PYC students and families.
 
Pay Rate: $19.00/hour
 
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Monitor district policies and maintain accurate records: enrollment, attendance, bus cards, credits, and transcripts.
  • Coordinate and facilitate school intake appointments with families, students and community partners.
  • Provide community referrals and resources to students and families.
  • Manage school’s nutrition program, maintain supporting documentation, aid in meal service.
  • Track data on incoming students for district and grant reporting.
  • Collaborate with MPLS and Hennepin County on truancy reporting.
  • Connect with families and community professionals on student’s attendance progress.
  • Monitor student demit withdrawal process.
  • Maintain ongoing relationships with Minneapolis Public Schools counselors and staff at student placement regarding student enrollment to and from programs.
  • Participate in school wide activities and events.
  • Provide clerical support and assistance with daily school tasks.
  • Support Leadership Team with administrative tasks
  • Coordinate family events and conferences.
  • Manage student IDs and bus cards for student body.
  • Other duties as assigned.
 
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
 
Education and Experience:
  • Two year degree preferred along with experience working with urban youth and families.
  • Experience working in a non-profit community-based organization


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Knowledge about urban youth, families and community.
  • Competence in computer applications and ability to use these resources effectively in accomplishing work.
  • Detail oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to develop relationships with youth and families that foster academic success.
  • Mission driven.
