Farm Shop Lead

Farm Shop Lead – Huntsinger Farms Inc.

Huntsinger Farms Inc., the world’s largest grower and processor of horseradish has an immediate opening for a Farm Shop Lead to join our team, located at our facility on Highway 37 in Eau Claire. This is a full time, year round position. 

We are seeking Farm Shop Lead to manage shop operations’, ensuring that work performed is completed on a timely and quality schedule.

·        Schedules and supervises daily operations of shop.
·        Makes recommendations on maintenance/repairs and new equipment purchases.
·        Controls inventory of shop components.
·        Responsible for all ordering of shop parts and supplies.
·        Consults with vendors as necessary for performing assigned responsibilities.
·        Promotes safety practices.
·        Ability to manage up to eight employees in a shop setting.
·        Supports and enforces company guidelines, policies, procedures, and work rules.
·        Establishes and maintains a positive and professional cooperative working relationship with employees, co-workers, and superiors.
·        Responsible for cleaning of Underground/Farm offices and building.
·        Is knowledgeable of all company rules, regulations, policies and procedures and complies with them at all times. Follows all departmental Standard Operating Procedures and reviews them regularly.
·        Will work extended hours, including Saturdays, during the spring and fall seasonal operations. 

Available to assist with other farm duties as requested. Farm Shop Lead candidates will have experience in repair and preventive maintenance of equipment. Electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, equipment and troubleshooting skills are required. Ability to perform heavy physical work is required. People skills and problem solving skills are required as well as the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities and easily adapt to changing situations. Requires the ability to work independently.  Requires flexibility to work various schedules as required.

We are looking for a candidate with a strong mechanical background with 1-3 years maintenance experience preferably in farm equipment repair along with 1-3 years previous supervisory and/or administrative experience. A CDL license will be required within 6 months of start date.
