DARTS is a community-based nonprofit that connects people to services and partnerships that improve their quality of life, help them age well, and enable them to engage in their community. JOB SUMMARY:

The Independent Living Program (ILP) Aide will provide the daily task of preparing, serving, and cleaning up for the Congregate Housing Services Program noon meal served in the Community Room at two South St. Paul, MN public housing high rises. Occasionally, this position will fill in for team members that are taking time off and may include performing the tasks of laundry and cleaning for a resident that has chores scheduled.

Pay: $13.00/hour

Hours: Every Other Weekend - 3 hours on Saturday and 3 hours on Sunday

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Prepare, serve, and clean up after noon congregate meal
  • Light homemaking assistance such as sweeping, dusting, vacuuming, washing dishes, wet mopping, changing bed linens, laundry, and other tasks as needed
  • Escort individuals to/from the Community Room
  • Grocery shopping for, or with resident as needed

Qualifications:
  • Basic planning, reading and general math skills in order to read the menus and maintain portion control
  • Ability to work within a team
  • Punctuality, dependability, and excellent customer service skills
  • Desire to work with seniors and individuals with mental health issues and disabilities
  • Physical ability to lift 20lb pans of food from the refrigerator to the oven and from the oven to a serving cart
  • Ability to perform physical jobs such as run and use a vacuum, clean bathrooms, kitchens, mop floors and dust in a home setting
  • Valid MN driver’s license, clean driving record and the ability to maintain a clean driving record
