Spring 2020 Scott Institute for Energy Innovation Intern

The Wilton E. Scott Institute for Energy Innovation is looking for an energetic Intern to support communications and events. Our ideal candidate is someone with strong writing skills and who has an interest in writing about energy/environment for online and print mediums. Event experience a plus.

Job Description 

The Scott Institute Intern will work closely with the Institute’s Communications Analyst to develop online and print communications for various websites, newsletters, e-blasts and other marketing collateral for the Institute. You will be an integral part of the Scott Institute for Energy Innovation and at the same time—will learn how to use CMU’s Content Management System, MailChimp, relationship build with our online community by helping maintain our social media channels and more. 

The Communications Intern will be involved in developing communications for and assisting with the institute’s exciting events like CMU Energy Week. Tasks may also include, but are not limited to: video shooting and editing, distributing signage, performing administrative duties and research for the Institute staff and leadership team.

This position begins January 2020. You are expected to work 10 hours/week (can be negotiated) and will be paid $10-12/hour. We prefer that you work in our offices located on the fifth floor of Scott Hall and work during normal business hours on mainly Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
