Literacy Green Bay Early Childhood Teacher

Schedule: Monday/Wednesday from 8:45 to 11:45 a.m. and/or 4:45 to 7:45 p.m. This is a year-round position that operates on a two-semester academic calendar with a 9-week summer session included. Currently recruiting for an evening position; possibility of morning hours also available.
Major duties and responsibilities involve working with Program Coordinator and staff to meet goals and objectives of the Children First Family Literacy program. Plan activities that foster language and literacy development of the children and engage in preschool-readiness activities; provide a stimulating learning environment that promotes socialization and encourages individual expression; assist in assessing children's language, literacy and school-readiness skills upon entry and at scheduled intervals throughout the year; plan and participate in parent/child together (PACT) activities; assist with maintaining records on each child to assure quality instruction and care.
Other duties include the ability to effectively communicate with program staff and parents, as the parents are on-site during programming; dependable; self-starter; ability to be flexible and work cooperatively with staff and collaborative agencies.
Minimum qualifications: High school diploma or GED with childcare experience; Preferred: 2-year
associate degree in Early Childhood from an accredited college or university; patient, nurturing, and a familiarity and ease in dealing with diverse ethnic, racial and linguistic groups; knowledge of best practices for early childhood development and instruction
