Rotational Engineering Co-op

Position is located in Waukesha, WI

Husco provides engineering students a unique training and development opportunity to work in three critical operations departments of Husco. Students will complete work rotations through Manufacturing, Quality, and Supply Chain. During each rotation, students will work closely with experienced operations and engineering professionals and interact with all levels of leadership within the Husco organization. Students will develop a depth of experience on how departments work together to meet the demands of Husco’s customers. Under the direction of a Department Manager or designee, the student will be assigned a variety of substantive duties ranging from routine to special projects related to the course of study and functional aspects of each department. Interns and Co-ops are given responsibility for specific processes and tasks and will be accountable for results.

Manufacturing Rotation: about 10-12 weeks
• Support and manage projects related to new product launches
• Complete daily production support
• Gain an understanding of capital purchase process and installation projects

Quality Rotation: about 10-12 weeks
• Complete line audits, scrap reviews and root cause production issues using Six Sigma tools and processes
• Support the SPPAP and incoming inspection process
• Evaluate warranty and customer quality tracking issues.
• Participate in the implementation of corrective/preventative actions.

Supply Chain Rotation: about 10-12 weeks
• Learn and participate in the HUSCO request for quote (RFQ) process
• Manage part sourcing for new projects from prototype to production
• Perform pricing variance analysis and product cost models

Requirements:
• Students enrolled in a school sponsored program pursing Bachelor’s Degrees in Engineering or Operations. Preferred Mechanical, Industrial, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Industrial Technology Management or related discipline.
• Completion of standard engineering or business academic classes included physics, calculus, and/or trigonometry.
• Availability to work Summer/Fall and the following Summer or Spring/Summer and the following Summer. (Total work time is 30-36 weeks)
• Minimum 2.9 GPA
• Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with other functional areas.
• Self starter and able to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-pace environment.
• Strong mechanical aptitude preferred.
• Ability to interact with people at all levels of responsibility.
• Willingness to learn and take on routine, non-routine and project job responsibilities.
• Solid team player and contributor.
