RESPONSIBILITIESProtection of life and property, enforce state and local laws/ordinances, conduct investigations and perform other essential functions of a police officer.
 
SALARY & BENEFITS: Starting wage of $51,813.00 per 2020 contract as of 1/1/20. WI retirement fund, health insurance, sick leave, life insurance, 10 paid holidays, clothing allowance, longevity pay, education incentive pay, paid vacation, and shift differential pay. Dental Insurance and Deferred Comp available at employee cost. Consideration for prior full-time enforcement experience. Modern personal appearance policy, including facial hair & tattoos. Salary/benefits are in conjunction with Wisconsin Professional Police Association contract.
 
QUALIFICATIONS: Candidate must be a U.S. citizen, at least 21 years of age by date of hire, valid driver’s license, good driving record, good physical condition, obtain high school diploma, a two year Associate Degree or a minimum of 60 college-level credits, Wisconsin Law Enforcement Standards Board certification preferred, ability to possess a firearm, no felony convictions, no domestic abuse convictions, vision correctable to 20/20, excellent verbal and written communication skills, react quickly and effectively to stressful situations, ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, clear and concise speech, knowledge and skills in operating computer systems; ability to handle several tasks simultaneously, ability to perform all the essential functions of this position, and ability to use all standard law enforcement equipment, ability to consistently and reliably work assigned shifts as well as overtime and training as required. 
 
Assessment Center will be held January 25, 2020 at 8:00 am. Interview times will be assigned upon receipt of applications. Candidates moving forward will participate in a Personality Evaluation Profile test and physical agility test also on January 25th.

Physical Agility testing standards will be the same as the Wisconsin Police Academy graduating standards. Please see attachment for physical agility standards.
 
If candidates advance from the PEP test, internal interviews with CFPD Command Staff are scheduled for January 28th. 
If candidates advance from Internal Interviews, final interview with the Police & Fire Commission is February 3rd. 
 
NOTE: Testing process can include, but not limited to, Assessment Center, Personality Evaluation Profile test, oral interviews, work related behavioral strengths and weaknesses assessment, medical examination, vision examination, drug screening, background investigation, physical fitness/agility screening, and psychological profile. 
An 18-month probationary period is required.
Thirty-minute residency requirement will apply after probationary period.
