Marketing & Administrative Internship

Location: Sturgeon Bay, WI (Hybrid – some in-person hours required)
Hours: 15-20 hours/week, flexible scheduling with occasional evening/weekend hours during events. MUSE will work with you to align with your internship requirements and flexibility for traveling to Sturgeon Bay around your school schedule.

About MUSE

MUSE is a nonprofit music school and performance venue located in Sturgeon Bay, WI. We provide inclusive music education, host community performances, and support local artists through accessible programming. Our work combines creativity, education, and social impact, offering scholarships, public concerts, and rental opportunities in our unique venue space.

 

Role Summary

We’re seeking a detail-oriented, tech-savvy, and community-minded Marketing & Administrative Intern to support MUSE’s growing programs. This part-time role is ideal for someone who enjoys organizing behind-the-scenes operations, managing digital content, and helping arts nonprofits run smoothly. You'll assist with scheduling, communications, light graphic design (Canva), and tracking key administrative data. There will be opportunities to help host events, including concerts, rentals, and community events, as your class schedule allows.  

 

Responsibilities

Marketing & Communications (60%)

  • Assist in drafting and scheduling social media posts (Instagram, Facebook) to promote events, programs, and community engagement
  • Create flyers, newsletters, and event signage using Canva or similar tools
  • Update website content (using WordPress or My Music Staff)
  • Manage and grow MUSE’s email list; assist in creating monthly email newsletters via Mailchimp or similar
  • Support campaign efforts for fundraising events, membership drives, and scholarship promotions
  • Maintain an organized library of photos, logos, and marketing assets
     

Administrative Support (40%)

  • Track and update program information in Airtable (classes, rentals, artist contacts)
  • Help schedule lessons, rentals, and events as needed
  • Monitor and organize incoming contact form submissions, inquiries, and communications
  • Assist with printing, filing, donor acknowledgement letters, and light bookkeeping tasks
  • Support MUSE events by prepping materials, coordinating volunteer reminders, and helping with signage or setup
  • Ensure consistent branding and documentation across programs

  • Are self-directed, efficient, and able to prioritize tasks
  • Enjoy supporting community-centered creative work
  • Feel comfortable learning new tools (Square, Airtable, MMS, Canva) or already know them!
  • Can pitch in during occasional evening or weekend concerts and events
     

Preferred Experience (but not required):

  • Familiarity with Canva, Mailpoet, Square, Airtable, Little Green Light, and/or WordPress
  • Experience in nonprofit, arts, education, or event-based classes/work
  • Light graphic design or marketing experience
  • Comfort with data entry and managing online systems
  • Experience supporting or working in a music or arts setting
